Mars Iwai Tradition Whisky is manufactured at Mars’s Shinshu distillery, which located in Nagano Prefecture at 798 meters above sea level. The environment of Shinshu distillery is surrounded by granitic soil with crystal clear water source, which is perfect for the high standard whisky production. Iwai collection is named after the creator of Mars distillery, Kiichiro Iwai, who is also the former boss of Masataka Taketsuru.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Alcoholic, smoky, and peaty like an Islay single malt.
- Palate: Hot, smoky, and very alcoholic. Very syrupy as well.
- Finish: Finishes like smoky oak, and leaves a syrupy feeling in your mouth.
